Media Awards Analysis-Bush

Chainmail
by Shaurav, Nick, Raheam, Vivek-Best sound track
The reason “Chainmail” really stood out to me is because of the cinematography and camerawork that were used. One particular moment that stood out was when the killer was killing the victim, the type of camera shot that was used was a high angle shot. This type of shot made us emphasise with the victim as were we able to step into her shoes as she was about to get killed. Another type of shot that was used was a close up. This was used to force of the victims eyes. The use of this helped capture her reaction and to show the fear and terror in her eyes. A low angle shot was also used. This made the villain look superior and connoted how powerful he was.
Also the lighting and sound added the dramatic tension and fear, it also set up the mood as this type of trailer was a horror genre. It followed the codes and conventions of the genre, it fulfilled its genre expectations and kept us in suspense and did frighten.
The narrative of the trailer was seen to be non-linear because when the trailer started, a murder of someone was shown which showed disequilibrium

Every night has a thousand lies
by Bilal, Bianca and Asha- Best movie trailer
The use of black and white colouring connoted simplicity which connotes to us as the audience that the story line will be simple. However because of the use of black and white it also connotes that there is something to hide and a lot of secretary.
The different varied use of camera shots and angles allowed for the audience to engage with the trailer. For example, when the first ravelling of the villain girl “Lexi” was shown. The camera moved up towards her face. This brought out her features and made her look sexy.
The narrative starts with Todorov theory. Its starts with the three males getting set up and put into prison. We can’t fully understand the narrative because it is just a trailer but it follows his theory rather than Vladimir’s theory.
